What is an individual 2D code?

In 2013, the State Service of Ukraine on Medicines announced the development and implementation of an automated medicine traceability system. This system enables control over the circulation of medicinal products and timely detection of falsified medicines.

Each unit of a medicinal product can be tracked using a unique code printed on its packaging. The use of such product serialization in Europe began in 2011, in accordance with Directive No. 2011/62/EU.

The production equipment of InterChem SLC enables the marking of every released package with a unique individual 2D code.

On this page, you can verify whether the packaging with the entered code was indeed produced by InterChem SLC.

How does 2D medicine coding work?

Each product unit is marked with a DataMatrix code — a two-dimensional matrix barcode that encodes information in a unique pattern of black and white dots.
It can be decoded using a scanner or a smartphone with a QR code reader application (e.g., QR Barcode Scanner, i-nigma, Barcode Scanners, EC Scanner Pro, etc.).

Install one of these apps, open it, and point your smartphone camera at the code on the package. The screen will display a digital combination — copy it and paste it into the verification field at the top of this page.

If the code is valid, you will see:

  • the product name;

  • the production date;

  • an image of the packaging;

  • a link to the official website page containing the product description and package leaflet.

Receiving this information confirms that the product was manufactured by InterChem SLC and that it is registered in the company’s official database.
If the combination is not found in the database, you will receive an error message.

If the verification result indicates an invalid code, or if you have any other reason to doubt the authenticity of a medicinal product manufactured by InterChem SLC, please contact us by email at info@interchem.com.ua or reach us in any other convenient way.
